To add an AI assistant to your website using RecurAI, you need to create and configure a widget. Here's a step-by-step guide to get your AI assistant up and running on your site.
Before you begin, ensure that you've already created an AI assistant in RecurAI. If you haven't, refer to our guide on How to Create an AI Assistant.
Go to the Widgets section in your RecurAI dashboard.
Click on the New Widget to start creating your widget.
A widget configuration window will open with several options for you to adjust.
Step 1: Link to an AI Assistant
You'll first see two options:
Link to a Model
Link to an Assistant
Select Link to an Assistant and choose your created AI assistant from the dropdown menu.
Step 2: Set Token and Temperature Limits
You can adjust the following parameters based on your requirements:
Max Prompt Tokens: Limit the number of tokens in user inputs.
Max Completion Tokens: Set the maximum number of tokens the assistant can generate in a response.
Temperature: Control the randomness of responses. A higher value makes the responses more creative, while a lower value makes them more focused and deterministic.
Step 3: Choose Functions
Select the functions you want your chatbot to support:
Book Appointments: Enable this if you want the chatbot to handle appointment scheduling.
Capture Leads: Choose this if you want to use the chatbot for lead generation.
Customize the chatbot’s appearance and messaging in this section:
Main Title: The title of your chatbot (e.g., "Customer Support Assistant").
Subtitle: A brief description of what your assistant can do (e.g., "Here to help with your questions").
Suggested Questions: Add some example questions users can ask (e.g., "How to contact you?", "Where is your company located?").
Popped-Up Greeting Message: This is the initial message users will see when the chatbot pops up (e.g., "How can I help you today?").
Adjust the visual appearance of your widget according to your website’s style:
Main Widget Color: Set the main color of your chatbot widget.
Font Type: Choose the font for the chatbot text.
Widget Height and Width: Set the dimensions of the chatbot window.
Indent from Right and Bottom: Adjust the position of the widget on your page.
Default State: Choose whether the chatbot starts Open (visible) or Closed (hidden). Open means the widget is visible to everyone.
Direction: Set the direction of the chatbot window (e.g., left-to-right or right-to-left).
Language: Set the language for your chatbot.
Fine-tune additional settings in the Other section:
Allowed Domains: Specify which domains can host the chatbot. For example, if you enter example.com, only this domain will display the chatbot.
Website: Provide the website name where the chatbot will be embedded.
Memory Retention Duration: Define how long the chatbot should retain past conversation context. Adjust this according to your use case.
Logo: Upload a logo that will be displayed on the chatbot.
After configuring your widget, click Save to finalize its creation.
Now your AI assistant widget is ready to be added to your website!
Simply copy the provided embed code and insert it before closing the body tag of your website where you want the chatbot to appear.
